I completed my 200 Hour Teacher Training at the Shala in 2012, training in Vinyassa style yoga. (Sequencing poses in a special way)
I have also attended many Iyengar workshops, fine tuning alignment of poses. I enjoy teaching creatively sequenced classes, mixing in an energetic flow with holding and deepening poses.
I always start my classes with deep stretches and warmups of the areas of the body we will focus on,
and then we work up to a peak pose.
I have a focus each week on a particular area of the body, which relates to emotional release in that area. I use yoga as a tool to bring inner awareness, and allow suppressed emotions to surface, so that they can be processed and let go of, if willing.
Releasing tension in our muscles and tissue/fascia through our yoga practice, helps to clear our body/”temple” of physical toxins, and also clear emotional blockages, on a deeper level.
Bringing lightness into blocked areas of our body, helps us on our path of spiritual transformation by shifting behavioral patterns that hold us back.
